OpenLBS – Open Source Tracking

I’ve just finished working on the initial release of OpenLBS. OpenLBS is an open source suite of location based software. The two initial components of the project are the client and the server. The server is Pylons-based project that implements the OpenLBS HTTP Specs. The client implements those same specs to work with the server.

OpenLBS is useful if you want to run your own tracking server, or if you want to customize it according to your needs.

If you want to try OpenLBS out to see how it works, please visit http://tracker.tech9computers.com and sign up. You can then download the client(currently on for BlackBerry) here.

Will you be releasing the source code for the Blackberry client? We wish to push it out with BES to our corporate users and want to hard code some of the login and server values.

The source is currently available at http://openlbs.googlecode.com

    Hello,

what’s about the OpenLBS Project? The site is not available. Also the old one http://www.blackberrytracker.com has some problems. Like add a new friend is not working.

It’s really a cool application. But only if it work :-)

    Thank you!
